One thing to think about - you sound a bit frustrated that the diet hasn't led to any permanent changes (like when you say it "masks" things). But if it's partially diet that causes the behavior, then rather than "masking", it is actually taking AWAY part of the problem. To me that's a big difference (covering up a problem that is still there vs. alleviating part of the problem). It seems much more positive to me if it actually alleviates the symptoms. :) I'm so happy to hear that diet has been a huge help to him.

I've been meaning to comment forever that I LOVE the floorplan of your house that you posted! It looks amazing. We are very excited for you guys and can't wait to see pictures...SOON!Natashahttp://christianmomthoughts.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7231876981906489792.post-71343091543598897502011-12-30T17:18:21.625-08:002011-12-30T17:18:21.625-08:00Jackie--He isn't in any other therapy at this ...Jackie--He isn't in any other therapy at this time. When we lived in CA, he was in 1:1 social skills therapy and in ABA group therapy. Our new insurance here (though it's changing again, so not sure what to expect this year), offers 60 sessions of occupational and physical therapy if needed. He was in equine (horse) therapy, but unfortunately was non-compliant and we were asked to leave after a few semesters of trying to get him to comply. I'll be honest and just say that therapy didn't seem to help him much. It amounted to alot of time away from home and and alot of driving to and from places with Miss O in tow. We opted to try the diet instead at this time in hopes of seeing some progress. But I know some people whose children have really thrived in therapy.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13841297851874457415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7231876981906489792.post-1918735028881014722011-12-30T15:01:12.829-08:002011-12-30T15:01:12.829-08:00I was just wondering if your son is any kind of th...I was just wondering if your son is any kind of therapy besides his food changes? I know you are not sending him to school, that is my daughters goal with her daughter but right now she is in preschool/therapy and it is working very well. We hope when it is time for Kindergarten that she can homeschool with her brother and twin sister.Jackiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00141440655096649758noreply@blogger.com
