File Folder Counting Game

My son just loves dice. He is always asking my husband to play a dice game with him, but he is too young to understand most games that involve dice, so I made up this little file folder game, and incorporated a die to pique his interest. It's very simple, nothing fancy, but he has gone back to it several times. It's great for when I am busy making lunch and the kids are restless.

All you need is a file folder, a ziploc bag, puff balls, stickers and a die (I just took one from a game we don't usually play). Stick the stickers in an orderly fashion on the right side of the file folder. Staple the ziploc to the other side, and insert the die and puffballs into the bag, and you have the game.

To play, roll the die and count the dots. Put as many puffballs as the die calls for on top of the stickers. You win when all the stickers are covered. I also took a bell from a Bunco game we had and he gets to ring the bell when he finishes--this motivates him to play until the end because he just likes slamming that bell down! A self-correct for this game is to only include as many puffballs as there are stickers.

My only complaint is that I wish I had a better way to store the pieces. How do you store the pieces in your file folder games?
