Look What I Made!

I'm way too proud of myself for this one, but I thought I'd share. I have seen the felt play food on lots of different blogs, and I thought I'd try my hand at it. I'm not a sewer by any means, but this was fast AND easy. I freehanded the shape of the egg and yolk, and used embroidery floss to hand sew them together. I used cotton balls for batting because I don't just have batting lying around. Don't look too closely or you'll see how terrible my sewing is, but even still I had fun with this one! I have dreams of replacing all their plastic play food with felt food, but it probably won't happen. So my new craze is homemade felt food--eat up!

LOVE it! I also plan to freehand some, but will also take advantage of free patterns. Check out my blog...I just listed lots of free patterns! I used cotton balls for my strawberries too!

You're welcome! I forgot to say earlier that I plan to post some regular sewing...non felt...toys soon too. There is a house or barn that I would love to make...but I have almost no skill...we'll see! So come back and visit sometime soon. I hope to post those in the next week.

LOL when I saw the first picture, I really thought it was a perfect egg that you cooked and were proud of! It must be pretty good since it looks so real! :)

I have also been seeing all that felt food floating around. I think your egg turned out great! First try or not it seems like you have a natural talent for felt food ;)!

Speaking of Eggs...Yes they are hard boiled eggs we used in the egg brushing experiment! I will edit my post to say it. Thanks for commenting!
